The camera fades into the back, lesser traversed halls of the Canadian Tire Place. Deep in the gloom, there's a faint orange pinprick— the glowing cherry on a cigarette. A red EXIT sign paints a solitary path of light, illuminating the folded and tattooed arms of the sadist veteran known as Jackson. One hand twitches, fingers beckoning the cameraman in closer.
Jackson: Come into my parlor, little fly on the wall... come in. I promise I won't bite, even if you want me to.
There's a soft sound that could be a snort or a muffled chuckle.
Jackson: Here we are in the Great White North. Lemme tell you one thing I didn't miss about Canada— winter.
He shifts positions, still cloaked in darkness. Leaning forward, he takes another long drag off the cigarette, the cleft in his stubbled chin and the derisive smirk on his lips visible.
Jackson: But hey, here I am, fresh as a daisy after kicking ass in Louisville last night. Zero hour's on us now and I'm about to go out there and make some special new friends. Are you excited, Canadian-X?
He chuckles, the sound almost mocking.
Jackson: You should be because if this place succeeds, it's going to be because of guys like me and John Pariah— guys who have bled buckets around the world, guys who've paid their dues a thousand times over. It won't be because of flash-in-the-pan revolutionaries bent more on their own agenda than ensuring the place that puts the microphones in their hands is going to last more than a cup of coffee.
Another scornful laugh punctuates his words as he rolls his eyes.
Jackson: I know most of these kids don't have the head for all that bigger picture stuff. So, I'm here and this is a trial run for me. Do I want to throw my eggs in this basket? That remains to be seen. If you want to question that, you can take a look at some of the bullshit I've endured lately. Let's just say I have a little bit of a trust issue when it comes to jumping into new places.
The door behind him opens, feminine laughter filling the silence. He leans forward again, just a bit more visible as the light from the hallway washes over him, revealing dark hair shot through with grey. He looks up, a smile curving his lips as the light returns to nothing more than a splash of red. He pulls the woman into his lap, wrapping his arms around her possessively. All that can be seen of her is the flash of the diamonds on her wedding set as she lifts her left hand up to cup Jackson's cheek.
Jackson: Tonight, no jokers will be running wild. I won't be laying down in that ring like a welcome mat or some clichéd stepping stone. Nope. Tonight, you're in for a special treat.
He flicks away his cigarette with another sarcastic chortle.
Jackson: Are you prepared? Hell, are you scared, Addams?
He pauses as though awaiting a reply, his eyes drifting to the gorgeous woman in his lap.
Lyv Jackson: If they aren't, they will be soon enough, baby.
Jackson: Damn right I'm gonna make 'em scared. It's kinda what I do.
The scene fades to a recording of the Canadian Flag moving in the wind, blotting out the rough sound of Jackson's mocking laughter.
O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!
BANG!
The show finally fades in on the Canadian Tire Place arena in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. There is a large showing in the humongous arena as there is a huge buzz in the air. Christmas music is playing in the background as the camera pans through the crowd. The camera spots a man wearing a Pat Gordon JR Hoodie with the hood covering his face. Not far from him is a man holding a sign saying " I am a Pariah Guy!" On the opposite end of the arena, a small group of fans are chanting "Starr for Prez! Starr for Prez! Starr for Prez!". After another moment of looking at the anticipation coming from each and every fan. The camera switches and we have a direct view of the wrestling ring. The apron is a deep black with "Canadian Classic Christmas" written on each side of it. There is a long walkway leading to the ring entrance. It is a black curtain with a more seating over top. There is a minitron hanging off of the seating area. The camera switches again and we find ourselves in front of the ring announcer's table. Mikey Grandel and James "Blacklotis" Clark are dressed in suits with excitement on their faces. In between them is none other than CanX CEO Angelo Valour. He is wearing a Santa Clause outfit minus the beard and is leaning far backward on his seat. Three brand new looking Championships sit on top of the Announcer's desk. They read Canadian Xtreme Championship, Canadian X Legacy Championship and Canadian X Heavyweight Championship respectively. The announcing crew gets the cue and the action begins!
Mikey: Hello everybody and WELCOME to the return of the greatest wrestling company up North!
Clark: We are back and BETTER than ever! What a return card we have tonight, Michael. I mean just look at what we have. THREE Championships are on the line. We've never had three Championships. This is big.
Mikey: You couldn't be any more right, James. Not only that but we will see two wrestling matches to determine who will go on to Royalty in January to earn a shot at the coveted Legacy championship.
Clark: Speaking of Legacy Champ. Tonight's card is set for a HUGE match up between John Pariah and Drew Stevenson. This has quickly turned into something epic. All I know is neither man is going to leave anything out in the ring. It's all or nothing on both ends.
Mikey: A five star match up indeed. And at the end of the night we will not only have the NEW Canadian X Heavyweight Champion, but we will also have the number one contender to that said Championship. Those two will compete in the Co-Main Event at Royalty.
Clark: Enough about Royalty, Mike. We have none other than Valour Clause with us here at ringside. He was saying how he was here to show the wrestling world three gifts he had in store for three very special wrestlers tonight.
Angelo opens his arms wide with a grin as he points at the three Championships.
Valour: Boys. I thought that with this re-emergence of the company I hold dear seems bigger and better than I could have ever hoped, I would give this company a make over. I went straight to work and had these three amazing new belts which will be given to the winners of each respective match.
Mikey: That's fantastic! There is a problem though. The Joker's Wild are making their début tonight and if any indicators are there, there could be trouble.
Valour: I've dealt with men like this before. They are loud and proud because they want to be noticed. The only thing they need to know is that this is my comp-
Suddenly the Commentator microphones cut out. You see Angelo continuing to talk, but nothing can be heard. The three men look around, confused when suddenly the arena goes dark.
The Minitron suddenly comes to life as the camera zooms in to see the Joker's Wild Emblem. The camera cuts off for an instant, but that instant has us looking somewhere in the back.
Cutting to the back, a scenery of black and white with the TJW logo projected behind him is on the screen and all three men with big smiles on their faces, in their trademark black TJW shirts stand together.
Scotty: So this is it, eh? This is the 'great white north'... this is the promotion that's supposed to be turning heads. This is the promotion that spawns off of where another one fails. This is the infamous.. Canadian X... pro. And ya know something, we felt that if we were going to make our debut.. we had to do it in style. I mean we could go out to the ring... like we're going to later, and dominate the competition and take all the belts for ourselves... like we're going to, but where would be the fun in just showing up, dominating, taking your belts and leaving? Oh there's plenty of fun with that because we're the best of the best that this little company has to offer... and that's why we had to interrupt you, my friend. See, this isn't your show this is our show. This isn't Canadian Classic Christmas.. this is Jokers Classic Christmas and if there's one thing about us... it's that we keep it classy."
Frank Washington then steps up to the plate with probably the biggest smile of the three of them.
Frank:Oh you're damn right we keep it classy. See, Valour, we don't need to spill pints of pointless blood to get the job done and I'm going to prove that later tonight when I make Dakota Smith tap out in the middle of the ring. Your need for senseless violence is above us and that's why we're not going to do this your way. The more you fight back, the harder it's just going to be for you because you can look at the three of us and you can see that we're invincible. No Dakota Smith, no John Pariah, no Brett Starr will be able to stop us because we run this show. You need us to keep this company afloat because we're money and you know it."
Just as Frank was finishing up, the one and only Mr. Mainstream, Drew Stevenson was walking forward with a cocky strut, laughter and big smiles on the faces of all three.
Drew: Ya wanna know something, Angie? You wanna know the cold hard truth? You don't like us... your boys in the back don't like us but this night is Jokers night. We came here to save your company. We came here to get you kick started. We came here to dominate just the way that the Jokers Wild does. Who's going to stop us, Valour? You? Brett Starr? John Pariah? Maybe Nikki X... jokes. Just like that hole in the wall 'star' Justin Brooks and I'll be proving that on January 5th when the big man 'above me' comes up North just to fight me. See... I'll give you props where props are due, Valour. You managed to get your hands on the hottest stars this business has ever seen. You got your hands on the biggest mainstream stars. We've sold out the garden, many times. I've got thirty one world titles under my belt, alone. Scotty Addams is the best to never be world champ but that's changin' real soon, brother. You got Frank Washington that's takin' that bloodshed piece of trash and making it something that can bring money, something that can market. We are the best thing happening for Canadian X right now and that's why we're takin over, starting right here right now!"
He moved to the side as Scotty came back to the front.
Scotty: So in case you haven't figured it out yet, we are the Joker's Wild. We are the best of the best and we prove it night in and night out. We're taking over because we care, Angie. We care about the business and what it represents. You could even consider us... your saviors. By the time this night is over with, everybody is going to know the name Joker's Wild and they're going to see that when we say we mean business... we mean business."
The camera cuts out as we move to a word from our sponsors.
Jackson: Come into my parlor, little fly on the wall... come in. I promise I won't bite, even if you want me to.
