Scene One: The Fallout
[The scene fades into the locker room. The date on the camera reads Monday, and wrestlers are filing out of the locker room, after the first night of the BC Legacy Tour. We pan over to John Pariah, who is sitting on the bench, shirtless-with a pair of shorts on. He's leaning back against the wall-eyes closed-seemingly replaying the events of the night in his head.]
Lillith: How do you feel?
[The camera pans over, as Lillith Morgan walks in, sitting down next to him.]
John: Like hell.
Lillith: You won though.
John: I did….
Lillith: …but?
John: But I still have a lot to do. A lot to prove.
Lillith: Like what?
John: That I'm starting fresh. This is a new era for me, and a new time. It's kind of fitting that I kicked off my CXP run, by taking Timothy Hunt down and out.
Lillith: Now what?
John: Now I can focus on my future. On our future. This is my rebirth, my resurrection. Now I can start fresh.
Lillith: Well you're certainly going to start fresh next week.
John: How so?
[She pulls her phone out, and hands it to John-displaying the announced card for the Second Week of the Tour. He looks it over and smirks.]
John: A tag team match?
Lillith: With Shawn Cage.
John: …with Shawn Cage.
[He leans his head back, in deep though.]
John: Who the hell are these other two jack asses?
Lillith: I don't know…..
John: Better question...
Lillith: What's that?
John: Can I trust Shawn Alexander Cage?
This is the question that has evaded me for a while now. Can Shawn Cage be trusted? He's at the same place I am. He's a veteran looking to start fresh. He has a history of self destruction-just like I do. We've both been to hell, we've both been dishonored in our careers…now-we both seek atonement, we both seek penance, we both seek salvation for our sins. The Filth Parade may not march today, but for two dishonored veterans-there will be justice…..
Scene Two: Watching the World Wash By
[We fade in on a bench in the park-watching people walk by, ride bikes and roller blade. We see families in the grass playing, and entrances to animal exhibits can be seen in the distance. The camera swings around the bench-and reveals John Pariah sitting there. He's wearing a black hoodie-with the hood up. He's leaning forward, holding his iPhone in his hands. Headphones flow into his hood-and music can faintly be heard playing.]
These are the lives I wish I could of led. If things were different. If my life hadn't been thrown into shambles, with travesty after travesty. Sometimes, I just sit back and wish for peace. Sometimes, I just sit back and wish for things to be different. Now, I have that chance to set the things right in my life.
[He pulls the earbuds out, and pockets his phone-looking at the camera parked directly in his face.]
John: Larkyn Matthew is an interesting specimen. A complete newcomer-thinking that his golden ticket out of the hellhole Taco Bell life is in front of him. Paycheck Prodigies, living off of the wealth of their family-pursuing a dream just to amuse themselves, all while taking a spot from people who deserve it. Your kind makes me sick.
[He smiles, pulling his hood down.]
John: You still interest me kid, I won't lie about that. Your dad is right though kid, you need to take this seriously. You're stepping into the ring with two men who were wrestling sold out arenas when you were still pissing your pants. You're stepping into the ring with over forty World Championships. You're stepping into the ring with two veterans, who have been dishonored in our pasts, and two veterans who are seeking justice. Heed your fathers advice kid, don't tread lightly on us. I can't speak for my partner, but if Mr. Matthew-or Mr. Pagano for that matter-want to try and use us as a stepping stone, than they need to remember that it will be Lights Out for them. Escape with the win Larkyn? Please. Do your research-and tell your partner to re-focus, and decide what he wants to do, because I will not let some pissant prep-school prodigy, some weekend warrior, someone who wants Mommy and Daddy to bail him out-I will not allow a person like that to beat me….
[He smirks, and leans forward.]
John: Larkyn, allow me to tell you a story, a little story about me. You see when I was but a wee lad, maybe 2 or 3-I rested on my mothers chest-and listened to her heart give out. When I was about your age, I sat at home and took that call from the police department. The call that my father had been gunned down, dead to rights. Cherish those who support you-because my entire career-I have spent alone. I have spent the last fifteen years foraging a life out of this business, foraging a path to success in this business. I have spent a decade and a half fighting to give my daughter the life I never had!
[He pauses, and stands up-throwing his hood back up as he notices rain clouds form.]
John: Heed your fathers advice-and refocus. Don't tread lightly-because you will fall through the ice. Your fate, will be mine to decide. I'm starting a new chapter in my career Larkyn, are you going to be the first name I cross off of my list?
[He smirks as rain begins to pour, and we fade to black.]
