Legacy you say?
A Legacy is something that is created by the contributions of a said person within the said organization or in our case, the industry. A Legacy is what you will leave behind when you finally ride off into the sunset and that is exactly why the Legacy Championship in Canadian X needs, yes, NEEDS a champion who actually has a real Legacy in the business instead of a man who quite frankly – is just getting his little shovel and pale out to begin digging his little Legacy.
John Pariah, the current reigning Canadian X Legacy Champion is looking to piece his Legacy together step by step as if he was building a Lego model. John Pariah, the current reigning Canadian X Legacy Champion will see that he is facing a certified legend in this business and that will be his proverbial calling card in getting his foot in the door to becoming wildly successful. However, that comes with a HUGE price as he has to try dethroning the man, the myth, the legend – Mr. Mainstream, Drew FREAKING Stevenson and that is a feat that a little runt like Pariah will NEVER achieve; that you can bank on!
New York City
Madison Square Garden
The weather out here was cold, tiny little snow flurries were just flowing all about – making their journey to wherever they’re headed. Madison Square Garden, the most prestigious arena in all of wrestling was our main focal point and standing outside of it on the sidewalk was wrestling legend, Drew Stevenson who looked as smug and arrogant as ever. Wearing a Steelers leather jacket that fit tightly on his large upper body, black jeans that were snug yet loose for easy movement, black steel toed boots and a perfectly fitted Steelers ball cap – the legend himself, Mr. Mainstream flashes that extremely brash Stevenson smirk as he turns his head looking at good old Madison Square Garden, the very building that gave him immortality.
Drew, “Madison Square Garden is the very building that has turned men into legends, legends into Icons and has created legacy’s far beyond what anybody in Canadian X realizes with the exception of a select few. John Pariah, you currently hold what I am after and that is the Canadian X Legacy Championship; something that you know nothing about or understand because you have never built a Legacy that ever really mattered until now and now you have a little thing stirring in the pot. You have some tiny bit of momentum brewing here in this company but you are stepping into that ring against THE MAN in this business. When people think of wrestling? The name that IMMEDIATELY comes to mind is yours truly, Drew Stevenson and I am going to tear that Legacy Championship right out of your cold, dead fingers and show Canadian X just what Mainstream is all about.”
Smiling from ear to ear, he vaguely nods his head in that brash manner that just pisses you off.
Drew, “When you think of textbook suplexes and technical wrestling? You’ll think of me! When you think of Heavyweight Championships and success? You’ll think of me and when you are behind me every step of the way when Jokers Wild takes Canadian X and puts it on the map? You will be star struck and in awe when you feel the electricity that pulsates right here at the Garden but you will think of me. You will realize all along that what we said from the start was nothing but the truth and you can ride along Pariah, of course from the shadows because we don’t let leeches suckle off of OUR success and you John Pariah are the first sacrificial lamb in what will be the era of the Jokers Wild.”
Narrowing his eyes, he took in a deep breath of the cold air as his large frame retracted outwards and as he then exhaled – it retracted back inwards as a white cloud of smoke came from his mouth with every breath that he takes while out here in the cold. After a mere moment, he breaks the brief silence that had taken over and continues to speak as he is far from finished with John Pariah.
Drew, “Do you understand that or are you going to utilize this false sense of security that you can ACTUALLY beat me? Because I’m here to tell you, flat out, no bullshit that you won’t beat me and you won’t be walking out of Canadian Classic Christmas still the Legacy Champion.”
Shaking his head, he meant business.
Drew, “You see, what’s going to happen Pariah is that you will walk into Canadian Classic Christmas as the Legacy Champion and that’s as far as your journey goes. You see Madison Square Garden here? This is where only the BEST go, guys like me, guys like Scotty Addams, guys like Frank Washington, guys like Angelo Valour but most certainly not guys like John Pariah who are getting ready to be nothing more than a footnote in the Canadian X history of old. That’s where you are headed “champ”, you are about to be taken out back, dumped off into the middle of nowhere and used as a symbol to let everybody know that the Jokers Wild? We are here in Canadian X for the long haul and we are here to DOMINATE the competition and that means for you that you are just s**t out of luck man. That Legacy Championship? It as of today belongs to ME; you are just keeping it warm for me until Canadian Classic Christmas airs live and I out-WRESTLE you in the middle of that ring and leave you as nothing more than a broken, battered, bruised and might I say FORMER champion to add to that list.”
Drew smiles, “Oh yeah, it’s on the horizon and the only thing that you can do about it is like it!”
Pausing, he reaches up and strokes his beard. Lowering his hand and positioning it into the jacket pocket of his black Steelers leather jacket, he stands there still in front of Madison Square Garden, the most prestigious arena in wrestling history. As the flurries of snow still lightly blow across the area, he looked as serious as a heart attack and as arrogant or as he’ll tell you confident as a God.
Drew, “Yeah, I hear that you call yourself Chicago’s finest and that’s cute John, it really is but EVERYBODY flat out knows that’s a damn lie because that right belongs to Scotty Addams, THE HOTTEST COMMODITY here in Canadian X. Now see Johnny, maybe back during Canadian X’s first run you were recognized as that but those days are no more because that ship has long since sailed into the wild waters that WE have created – do you understand that? WE are the reason as to why this company is back on track, WE are the people that whispered into Angelo’s ear about reopening the hottest place up in the North and you can bet your bottom dollar that WE are the men who have here-by taken this company by storm. See little Johnny, you WAS Canada’s most wanted until we got here and then it became like comparing Lindsay Lohan to Charles Manson, we are flat out BETTER than you and we make your little most wanted act look like child’s play compared to ours.”
Narrowing his eyes, he was all business right now.
Drew, “Do you comprehend what I’m telling you Johnny or am I going to have to beat it into you because you refuse to accept the truth? Either way is perfectly acceptable to me man because quite frankly; no matter which way that you decide to take this little story – it ends the same and that is with me, Mr. Mainstream, the biggest thing to have ever hit this business walking out as the NEW Legacy Champion and making sure that what you THOUGHT was a legacy was really nothing more than a little fairytale in OUR version of Canadian X’s Grimm’s fairytales – the Joker’s story – one that you are in as the hero but one that you leave in as a broken man, dead on sight.”
With his deep voice really getting his point across, he had a look expressed along his face that really showed no emotion what so ever. Taking this moment to pause and to gather his thoughts, he tilted his head to the left a few inches and exhaled letting out a sigh which was kind of an expression on how he was feeling right now.
Drew continues to speak, “Things and times are changing around here and you are just a pawn in our little game of Chess John. When that bell sounds? The Jokers Wild takes over and you John Pariah get to find out FIRSTHAND just why we are in and YOU are OUT!”
With his thumb stretched outwards and pointing behind himself indicating that Pariah was in fact out of the equation, that incredibly arrogant smirk was stretched far and wide along his handsomely chiseled face as the man, the myth, the legend – Mr. Mainstream simply nodded his head completely agreeing with himself as he turns away from the camera and walks over to an awaiting limousine hopping in. With the camera immediately panning back to the Garden – we see a sign that reads…
“No spot monkeys allowed! This means you John Pariah.”
With that, our scene slowly fades to black.
